You are cordially summoned to “The Coven Classic,” a night of women & trans* powered magic presented by Slo ‘Mo Party hosted by Kristen Kaza & Jen Delos Reyes. Immerse yourself in Akenya & Her Coven of musicians plus a host of local guest vocalists as they cover witches & bitches from Stevie Nicks to Nina Simone, sensory illusions & magic performed by Jeanette Andrews and closing with the sensual, sonic experience of Audio Jack. Start your evening with treats on Sleeping Village’s patio sold by queer women owned catering company Midwest Methods and tarot services by Alia Walston.

Which witch, bitch? Our phenomenal judges are serious about costume commitment. Dress to impress “The Dutchess of Chicago” Darling Shear, Creator of OTV web series “Brujos” Ricardo Gamboa and veteran stylist of Kit This Brandon Fein. “Which witch” is up to you: Feel free to be expansive in evoking your character, whether a classic dedication or a unique creation. Cash money & prizes are on the line for the most supreme witch! Need ideas? Follow us on Instagram at @slomoparty for ideas inspo over the course of October and tag photos #thecovenclassic

For too long the magic of witches, brujas and powerful beings have been repressed, destroyed or denied. “The Coven Classic” is a celebration of the witch within, especially uplifting the queer, trans, femme, black and brown healers and vibe dealers of our community. Our mission is also to affirm the importance of inclusive, holistic health care: A portion of proceeds will be given to Chicago Volunteer Doulas, a birth justice organization providing comprehensive doula support with a focus on vulnerable communities in the Chicagoland area. We will share ways to access and support CVD and other sliding scale holistic health care & healing providers leading up to and at the event.

Sleeping Village is a wheelchair accessible space and gender neutral restrooms will be offered during “The Coven Classic.” The event is 21+ and a fog machine will be used.
